Reloading - The Flash (Ah ha! Savior of the universe!)

Welcome back to Reloading Reviews where today I’m going to try and tackle reviewing a TV show. I normally don’t because the idea of condensing my thoughts of 23 episodes (and thus, nearly 20 hours) of content down into one small wall of text that I usually use to cover a 2-3 hour film experience or discuss the depths of a 10-15 hour game’s mechanics and lore. But I’m going to try, damn it. Today I can finally, after nearly a year, give my attention to The Flash. And if you don't like this, check out our other review from this week where I talk about dinosaurs eating people. 

Reloading - Inkredibles

Time to get another review out of the way and I think this week I’ll finally get around to reviewing Splatoon unless something else happens to keep me from doing so. If this is online, obviously nothing happened, but feel free to imagine me looking around for some kind of “review attacker” who is trying to keep me from posting this. Let’s get this show on the roller! 

Reloading - Terminator - Sega Genesis

2015 has been an odd year in film. In one year alone, we’ve had three films break the top ten for highest box office numbers, two of which are owned by the same company. One of which is the seventh movie in a chain of movies that really shouldn’t be earning billions given the quality of writing and content. One of which is a dusty old relic from the 90’s that somehow still manage to blow the minds of children and adults of a new generation. And one of which was another Avengers, and that was the least profitably of the three (surprisingly). And we’re only just now starting the second half of the year. I can only imagine how bombastically stupid the numbers will get when Star Wars finally gets back on the big screen.

Reloading - Inside Out

Whenever a new Pixar movie comes out, I’m recently skeptical as to whether it’s worth the purchase or not. Cars having wasted my time twice didn’t really help that lot. And Brave, for everything it was trying to do, wasn’t as great as it could have been. But every-so-often, Pixar throws a new interesting idea to the plate and when it sticks the landing I get blown away. Today will be one of those times as we discuss Inside Out, which I will put up next to films like Toy Story and Incredibles as one of the best films in the Pixar library.

Reloading - Jurassic World - Still Miss Jeff Goldblum

Twenty or so years ago, I went into a movie theater for one of my first times. It may not have been THE first time, but it’s the first I remember. I went with my grandpa at the age of 3 or 4 and we sat to watch these big robot dinosaurs on screen come to life. We say the original Jurassic Park and I was blown away by it that, for years, I wanted to be a paleontologist. As I got older, I wanted to tell stories of that caliber or better. It’s twenty years later and we’re revisiting Isla Nublar in Jurassic World and… damn… What a ride.

Reloading: San Andreas - To a Fault

Welcome back to Reloading where we review games, movies, TV and so on. I just got a copy of Splatoon at the writing of this review (which was launch weekend). So expect that review shortly if it hasn’t already released. Until then, here’s a review of a big popular movie starring a big popular guy doing big tough things. San Andreas.

Hey folks. I know our review schedule has been weird with a mix of older movies and newer movies, but this is nearing the end of the backlog. So thanks for sticking around and letting me do this. With that in mind, Reloading another review for you today. This week, it’s going to be 5 Flights Up, which stars Morgan Freeman and Diane Keaton.

We’re almost caught up on reviews guys! I’m only a month behind instead of two or three! Luckily we’re getting to a point where there aren’t any new movies coming out soon, right? The summer slowdown? Oh… wait… I’m thinking of video games. Never mind. Well… shit… 

Reloading - Kingsman: The Secret Service

You guessed right folks! It’s another Monday, meaning another Reloading to review a game, movie, or thing for you! Today we have Kingsmen: The Secret Service… which, again, is a movie from January… being reviewed in May. Shut up, I’m getting there. 

Reloading - The Lazarus Effect

Welcome back to Reloading. It has certainly been a while what with my YouTube shenanigans and such. But now I'm finding time to get us caught up on our reviews, our blogs, our best of lists. And this week our review will be over the latest horror-esk movie to hit the big screen, The Lazarus Effect. This also clears off one of the movies from my “Most Anticipated of 2015” list. Did it live up to the hype at all? Again, sorry it took me over a bloody month to get to it. 

Reloading - Taken Too Far?

It’s time for another review here on Reloading. This week, Taken 3, reviewed via DVD copy because when it came out, I never got a chance to see it in theaters. Again, I’m still playing catch-up so feel free to badger me about it if you like. 

Reloading: Avengers: Age of iRobot

There’s no big movie that just came out to review… right? Oh, wait. Avengers: Age of Ultron. Well, shit, and I have a huge backlog of reviews dating back to January that I still haven’t gotten around to posting. I guess they’ll have to wait a week so I can get to this. Also, Cap, don’t start with me about language, time for a review! 

Reloading: Project Almanac (Spoilers)

By the time this review is released, I’m willing to bet the film has been removed from most theaters in an effort to make as much room for the 50 Shades of Grey craze that is all but inevitable. That being said, I wouldn’t do a delayed-review of Project Almanac if I didn’t think it worth discussion. It’s not a spectacular film and it won’t do anything to rock your world. But it was actually entertaining and is one of the few “found footage” films that I can say does a good job with the concept without becoming a nauseating mess. So, yeah. Rather than talk about 50 Shades, let’s talk about Project Almanac.

Reloading - Dark Souls 2

It took me damn near a month to complete the game… then I delayed posting this review a week because my schedule was entirely too full. But I’d rather have a full schedule than delay everything constantly. So here’s the review some of you have been waiting for… Dark Souls 2.

Reloading - The Boy Next Door (to Michael Myers)

Were you expected a review of Taken 3 or American Sniper? Well those probably aren’t happening. The former because I still have yet to see it and probably won’t in the near future. The latter because, again, still not particularly interested. How did I end up going to see The Boy Next Door? A series mostly fortunate events led me to seeing this with a friend where we both had a night off and wanted to actually go out. Was it my first choice of movie? No. But it’s also January and aside from Taken 3, there aren’t all that many options. Go figure.

Reloading: The Legend Of Korra Book 4 and Series Review

After three years, four seasons, roughly 50-something episodes, and a long list of bullshit from Nickelodeon holding this show back from true greatness, The Legend of Korra has finally come to a close. I know my review is a little late to the party, but between all the scheduled holiday posts, delays due to my actual job, and delays and technical problems getting a specific podcast complete and online... yeah, I can't think of how this would have gotten up to you guys any faster. That being said... After much delay, here is my review... of Legend of Korra. 

Reloading: Indie Game Double Feature

We’re getting righty down to the wire with getting the last of my reviews out before start hitting out “Best Of” lists for the year. So while I found some time, I want to squeak in two indie-game reviews for your pleasure. There’s more I wanted to do, but we’re cutting it close as it is. This week we’re hitting One Finger Death Punch and the Early Access game Hand of Fate. Both are shorter indie titles without too much meat to hold their own full review. So they get to share (still two scores to give though).
